This three night sailing Turkey itinerary along the sun drenched southwest coast is one of our most popular options. This route begins in Olympos and finishes in Fethiye, blending cultural visits, easy walks, swims, sunbathing, downtime, evenings out and retail therapy. Highlights include Fethiye, the Blue Lagoon, Kaş, the submerged ruins of Kekova and the hill top fortress at Simena. We begin near Olympos with a 90 minute transfer to the harbour and finish in Fethiye, a lively resort town where you can extend your holiday and keep enjoying the turquoise sea.
Guletcruises operates this charter boat tour on traditional wooden vessels built in Turkey. These handcrafted boats combine engines with sails set on two or three masts, and their design has evolved over centuries to handle everything from coastal hops to longer passages. A dedicated chef prepares delicious Turkish meals every day, so you’ll look forward to breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner. Meals on board are often cited as a highlight of our turkey gulet charter experiences. Browse our departure dates and reserve your place on this maritime adventure now.
Our voyage begins around 10 a.m. with a scenic drive from Olympos to the harbour, collecting other guests from Demre along the way. Once aboard and after a brief orientation, we motor to Pirates Cove for a swim, snorkel and lunch. The afternoon brings us to the UNESCOlisted Sunken City of Kekova; as this archaeological site is protected, we view the submerged ruins from the deck. Across the bay we call at Simena Castle, where centuries of history and excellent ice cream await. We end the day anchored in Gökkaya Bay, where loggerhead turtles often appear. In the evening you can relax on deck or take a small boat over to Smugglers Inn on Smugglers Island for a lively night out.
After breakfast we sail to Limanagzi Bay near Kaş to spend the morning swimming and snorkelling. Around midday we enter Kaş harbour. You’ll have a few hours to explore: take in the ancient amphitheatre, wander cobbled lanes, shop for jewellery or join an optional scuba dive. Later we head toward Aquarium Bay, just outside Kalkan, and drop anchor there for the night beneath the starry sky.
Optional excursion: scuba diving in Kaş
An early departure sees us heading west for another memorable day at sea. We begin the day in Butterfly Valley, a lush canyon between sheer cliffs; you can either wade to the shore or follow a 45 minute path to a hidden waterfall. Afterwards we set course for Ölüdeniz’s iconic Blue Lagoon. Paragliders launch from Mount Baba Dağ here, and we can arrange a tandem jump if you’re keen. After a refreshing dip, we make for St Nicholas Island. Water sports are on offer, or you can climb to the island’s summit for a spectacular sunset.
Optional excursion: paragliding over the Blue Lagoon
On our final day you’ll have a relaxed breakfast and another swim in St Nicholas Bay before we set sail. We pause at Tarzan Bay for more swimming, snorkelling and lunch. Around 14 p.m. we dock in Fethiye, bringing your sailing Turkey journey to a close though you’re welcome to stay on and explore this vibrant harbour town.
