TURKEY SAILING TOUR FOR YOUNG TRAVELERS!
This seven day, six night Turkey sailing itinerary hugs the breathtaking shores of the Turkey’s southwest coast. The route blends cultural discoveries, hiking, swimming, sunbathing, relaxation, nightlife and shopping, making it ideal for adventurous travellers in their 20s through 40s. Highlights of this Fethiye gulet cruise include Fethiye town itself, the Blue Lagoon at Ölüdeniz, the harbour of Kaş, the submerged ruins of Kekova and the hill top fortress at Simena. We end near Olympos, a secluded gem where you can stay in quirky tree house accommodation and continue enjoying Turkey’s turquoise beaches and warm sea.
We run our tours aboard only A+ premium gulets, handcrafted by Turkish boatbuilders. These comfortable vessels, with two or three masts and both sails and motors, have been used for centuries to explore the Mediterranean. A skilled chef is on board to prepare fresh Turkish meals every day, from breakfast through to dinner – many guests say the food is one of the trip’s highlights. Browse upcoming departure dates and reserve your spot on this once in a lifetime journey.
Our voyage starts in the bustling harbour town of Fethiye. In the afternoon you’ll board your gulet, meet the crew and other passengers and settle into your cabin. After a short introduction to life on board, we cruise to Tarzan Bay. Here you can dive into clear turquoise water for your first swim and enjoy a welcome dinner. We spend the night at anchor in Tarzan Bay.
After breakfast we sail to Butterfly Valley, a dramatic gorge framed by steep cliffs. You can swim ashore or follow a 45 minute trail to a small waterfall. We’ll stop for lunch at Ölüdeniz’s iconic Blue Lagoon, a spot that’s among the most photographed on the Med. If you’re seeking a thrill, we can arrange a tandem paraglide from Mount Babadağ. In the afternoon we head for St Nicholas Island, where you can enjoy water sports, sample fresh gözleme, hike up to ancient Lycian ruins and watch the sun set from the top of the island.
Optional tour: Paragliding over the Blue Lagoon.
In the morning we drop anchor in Aquarium Bay for swimming and snorkelling in crystal clear water. After lunch we set course for Kaş, where the afternoon and evening are yours to explore. Wander through cobbled streets, visit the ancient amphitheatre, browse jewellery shops or join an optional scuba diving excursion. After dinner on board, take in Kaş’s lively nightlife with karaoke or bar hopping if you wish.
Optional tour: Scuba diving in Kaş.
We enjoy breakfast in the marina and give you time to pick up snacks, sunscreen or local handicrafts. Our next stop is Limangazi, another beautiful bay where you can read, relax or swim. We then cruise to the fishing village of Uçagız, which has retained its traditional charm. Spend time wandering through its narrow lanes and look out for 2 000 year old Lycian tombs among the houses and partly submerged in the sea. At sunset we moor in Aperlai Bay and share dinner on board.
In the morning we head to Kekova to view the submerged ruins of an ancient city, now a protected heritage site. Swimming is not allowed among the ruins, but we’ll stop nearby for a swim. On the opposite shore lies the village of Simena, where you can climb to the medieval castle and admire panoramic views. Don’t miss trying the local ice cream. After a day of sightseeing, we sail to Gökkaya Bay. Loggerhead turtles nest in this area, so keep an eye out while swimming. In the evening you can relax on deck or take a boat over to Smugglers Inn to enjoy a lively evening.
Following breakfast we sail towards Demre. You can take an optional land excursion to the ancient city of Myra, home of the rock cut tombs and the Church of St Nicholas. After a few hours ashore we return to the gulet and head to Hidayet Bay, pausing at a secluded cove for more swimming and snorkelling. Later we set a course for Firnaz Bay, where we anchor for the night, enjoy a hearty meal and relax on deck while gazing up at the stars.
Our final day begins with a stop at Gemiler Beach, a sheltered bay surrounded by pine and olive trees. Relax on board or take advantage of the watersports available. You may also join an optional trip to Kayaköy, a deserted Greek village now preserved as a ghost town. In the afternoon we sail back to Fethiye harbour, where you can spend your last evening enjoying the town’s bars and cafés. We celebrate the end of an unforgettable week on our gulet.
