Our most popular three night route takes you on a Turkey sailing holiday along the spectacular southwestern coast. This Fethiye–Olympos itinerary blends sightseeing, hikes, swimming, sunbathing, relaxation, nightlife and shopping. Highlights include Fethiye, the Blue Lagoon, Kaş, the submerged ruins at Kekova and the hill top castle at Simena. We finish near Olympos, a secluded treasure where you can extend your stay in treehouses and keep enjoying the turquoise sea.
Guletcruises runs fethiye sailing tours on a premium gulets. These comfortable vessels, with two or three masts and both sails and motors, have been used for centuries for coastal journeys. On board, a talented chef prepares delicious Turkish dishes each day – many guests say the food is a high point of their turkey boat holiday. Check our schedules and reserve your place on this unforgettable journey.
Your journey begins in colourful Fethiye. We’ll meet at the Guletcruises office near the marina to handle formalities and board our gulet around 10 a.m., when you’ll meet the crew and fellow travellers. After a safety briefing we cruise to Butterfly Valley, nestled between two towering cliffs. Swim ashore or, if you’re keen to explore, follow the 45minute trail to a hidden waterfall. Next we head to Ölüdeniz’s renowned Blue Lagoon. Watch paraglider wings fill the sky above Mount Babadağ – or take a tandem flight yourself if you’re looking for adrenaline. Once you’ve cooled off in the lagoon’s clear waters, we set our course toward St Nicholas Island. Here you can try water sports or walk up to the ruins at the summit to catch a spectacular sunset.
Optional tour: tandem paragliding over the Blue Lagoon
At daybreak we depart from St Nicholas and make our way to Aquarium Bay near Kalkan, where you can enjoy breakfast and a refreshing morning swim. Later we head to Kaş harbour where you have time to explore: visit the ancient amphitheatre, browse cobbled lanes and jewellery shops or join an optional scubadiving excursion. In the late afternoon we sail to Limanagzi Bay, another stunning cove near Kaş. Spend the evening swimming and snorkelling before sleeping under the stars.
Optional tour: scuba diving in Kaş
After breakfast we sail towards Kekova to see the famous sunken city, a protected archaeological site where an earthquake submerged part of an ancient settlement. Swimming isn’t permitted among the ruins, but we’ll have plenty of swim stops later. Across the bay we call at Kaleköy (ancient Simena), where you can climb to the medieval castle for panoramic views and sample the local icecream. In the afternoon we make for Gökkaya Bay, a tranquil anchorage where loggerhead turtles nest. Take a swim, relax on deck or, if you fancy some nightlife, join us for a trip to Smugglers Inn on nearby Smugglers Island to dance until late.
On the final morning you can take a leisurely breakfast and a last swim in Gökkaya Bay. We then dock at the village of Üçağız near Demre around midmorning, where our voyage comes to an end. A complimentary bus transfer is available to your chosen treehouse accommodation in Olympos (about 90 minutes away), or we can drop you at the Demre bus station for onward travel – buses to Antalya leave every half hour, and there are hourly services to Kaş or Fethiye.
