Is It Really That Turquoise? (The Honest Truth)
Okay, look. I know what you’re thinking when you see our photos.
You scroll past a picture of a boat in Fethiye or Kekova, and the color just looks... wrong. It’s not normal sea blue. It’s this glowing, electric turquoise that looks like someone spilled neon paint into the ocean.
You probably tell yourself:
"Nice filter, guys. But water doesn't look like a swimming pool in real life."
I don’t blame you for being skeptical. But I’m going to let you in on a little secret: The photos are actually lying. But not in the way you think.
The reality is usually
more
vibrant.
There is a reason this region is officially called the "Turquoise Coast." It’s all about the geology. The sea floor where we run our Turkey yacht holidays is covered in white limestone sand. When the brilliant Mediterranean sun hits that white floor, it reflects back up through the clear water, creating that insane turquoise glow.
It messes with your brain a little bit.
When you wake up on a private gulet charter, grab your coffee, and look over the railing, you don't see dark, navy water. You see the bottom. You can count the pebbles 10 meters down. It feels less like sailing and more like floating on air.
It’s not magic, and it’s definitely not a filter. It’s just how nature works around here.
This is the irony of a Blue Cruise Turkey. We call it a "Blue" cruise, but the color that stays in your memory forever is definitely turquoise.
So yeah, bring your camera. But honestly? You won’t need to edit a single thing.
